WHAT IS THE SENIOR SCRAMBLE?

The Senior Scramble is a fun, yet competitive program where seniors team up on two-player teams and compete in a scramble format against those of similar age. Golf courses will host a one-day qualifier in which they will crown champions in three Age-Flights: 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and older. Proceeds from the Senior Scramble go toward the enhancement of your PGA Section’s military veterans programming, and the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s HOMES4HEROES program.

HOW DO I GET MY SENIORS INVOLVED?

There are several tips and techniques to use to get your seniors to participate.

  1. Present the program to your Men’s Golf Association, or Senior Committee. These are the key movers and shakers at the course. Having them onboard is essential.
  2. Word of Mouth. Chances are you see your seniors players several times a week. Mention the program to them in passing and build up a following for it.
  3. E-blast. Senior Scramble staff will provide any written material on the program for you to be able to send out in your monthly newsletter and cover the entire membership.
  4. Marketing Material. Once your facility is registered you will receive marketing material. Post these around the club where it is the most visible to your membership.
  5. Staff Involvement. Have your starters and outside services staff mention the program to your seniors in passing. This is an effective method that keeps it fresh in their minds.
  6. Event Date. Having an official event date set for the Senior Scramble and being an official event on your calendar gives them the incentive to get signed up.
